Zätix - Los Angeles, Illustration

Custom illustrations and merchandise artwork for a luxury exotic cannabis brand.

Zätix Luxury Cannabis had a bold identity already in place, and wanted custom illustrations made specifically for them by our resident artist, Monte Baunk. Monte delivered full colour psychedelic artwork, along with a set of individual line illustrations for merchandise. High Chris, the founder and CEO of Zätix, loved the work. We posted the original artworks to them as well, which they framed and put up. The artwork now appears on the products and merchandise they sell in the US.

Swartberg Private Game Lodge Website & Booking System, Websites

A premium lodge website with a fully styled Sirvoy booking system built in.

Swartberg Private Game Lodge had no online presence beyond a Google Business listing. They needed a website, and a reliable booking system integrated into it. I built a site that showcases their accommodation and facilities, aiming for something upmarket and premium, but still warm and inviting. I integrated Sirvoy's booking system and styled it fully to match the rest of the website. They have been using the website and booking system since 2024. We have made several updates for them over the years, and still maintain the site today.

Cardless Club | Easy Online Loyalty, Web apps & tools

A fully online loyalty rewards programme for local shops, cafés and restaurants.

Most loyalty programmes require an app download, and often come with confusing points structures. Paper loyalty cards end up in the laundry, get lost or damaged, or are left at home. I built a loyalty programme that is easy to use and understand, and runs entirely online. Customers keep all of their loyalty cards in one place, and earn stamps and rewards as they spend. Shop owners get a retention dashboard with profile customisation, security settings, staff management and reporting. We launched Cardless Club in Linden, Johannesburg in 2026. Nineteen stores across Johannesburg are on board so far, with their customers actively using the programme, and we are expanding to more cities in South Africa.

Themed Leaderboards, Web apps & tools

Twelve monthly themed leaderboards, one for every month of a year long promotion.

The casino needed to drive wagering volume from its existing players, with a new promotion every month for a full year. Each one had to feel fresh enough to earn attention, without breaking the brand or the leaderboard mechanic underneath. Every month got its own identity, built on the same mechanic. I treated the providers' licensed game assets as a casting pool: picking characters that fit the theme, then recolouring, relighting and compositing them until they read as one original scene rather than borrowed art. The rest was pace, twelve concepts in twelve months as sole designer. Twelve campaigns shipped on schedule, each one distinct, from cash and bonus tiers up to real world prizes including tickets to the Cape Town Sevens and a BMW M4 Coupe. The template grew with them, picking up two extra languages, multi-currency support and player name search along the way.

Beyond Boundaries | Website and Smart Form, Websites

An on brand website with a smart form that helps customers describe exactly what they need transported.

Beyond Boundaries Transport needed an online presence, and an easy way to record what their customers wanted transported, so that quoting and capturing contact details became straightforward. The client supplied their logo, a few images of completed jobs, and a set of customer testimonials. Working from the logo and that feedback, I planned a colour palette, designed the site and built it, including a smart form that adapts as the customer fills it in. Beyond Boundaries Transport has received multiple enquiries through the website, and now has an online presence that matches them with customers searching for their services.

Joint Jar Franchise, Brand & identity

A cannabis franchise that needed to look like a chain before the first shop existed.

Joint Jar came to us with a name, a rough colour idea and a unique business concept. They wanted a hand drawn logo, having followed our resident artist, Monte Baunk, and they wanted his bright graffiti style on it. As a franchise, everything we made had to hold up across different shop sizes, in different towns, installed by different people. The brief was still forming as we worked, so a lot of the thinking usually brought by the client, we did on their behalf. Monte hand drew the logo, sharing progress shots so the founder could steer it as it developed, then extended the style into a feature artwork built to print as vinyl wallpaper: one file, any shop, no artist needed on site. I designed the fit-out around cost, using black paint, off the shelf timber shelving and plain glass jars, so the wallpaper does the visual work. A plant wall with a neon sign gives every shop a share worthy photo opportunity. We handed over the logo, the brand system, on brand legal document templates, the feature artwork and four fit-out mockups covering three shop sizes plus a street view. The founder was blown away by how far the fit-out work went beyond the original brief. The first shops are not open yet, but the brand is finished and waiting.

Higher Ed Partners Africa, Brand & identity

A corporate identity built out of existing assets, with the gaps filled so the brand finally had rules to follow.

HEP Africa already had some design assets in place, but no brand rules to govern them, and there were gaps that had to be filled before a corporate identity could properly exist. I improved the existing designs, filled the gaps where assets were missing, and pulled everything together into a full corporate identity. Mockups showed the brand applied in practice, so the rules were easy to follow rather than abstract. HEP Africa adopted the identity, and now has a documented set of brand rules to work from.

VIP Honors Club, Websites

A high end website inviting VIP online casino players to join the club.

The group ran several online casinos, and wanted a single place where their highest value players could sign up to be looked after by the company's VIP hosts. Membership came with real world perks, including invitations to casino events, so the site had to feel exclusive enough to match what was on offer. I designed and built the site in WordPress, aiming for a high end feel that would read as genuinely exclusive rather than as another promotion. A custom hero video opens the page, and the rest of the design carries that tone through to the sign-up. The club served as the group's sign-up point for VIP players and their hosts. The site is no longer live.

Bokser Brand, Brand & identity

Full brand identity for a South African brand that never saw the light of day.

A private client was preparing to launch a South African range of everyday products, matches and tobacco among them, and needed a complete brand identity to launch behind. I researched the category, designed the logo, and built a full corporate identity around it, including the colour palette and the rules for applying the brand across the range. I delivered the identity in full. The client never took the range to market, and it looks unlikely to launch now, but the brand itself was finished, so it stands here as completed work.

Questions people ask

Are these prices final?

Yes. If the job needs something you haven't picked, or turns out simpler than it looked, we agree on a final quote after our call before anything starts.

How does payment work?

Half up front, half on delivery, agreed in writing first. Bank transfer inside South Africa, PayPal or similar from abroad. I am not VAT registered, so there is no VAT to add.

Why do the forms and plugins need a website first?

Because they live inside one. A smart form, a custom plugin, a blog: each of them sits inside a WordPress site I build or already look after. So the website is the base price and the technical parts go on top. Already have a WordPress site? Tell me on the call and I will price it differently.

Why is there a discovery session on my quote?

Because a written brief is what keeps a project on track. We work out what the thing has to do and what done looks like, and put it in writing for you to sign. That is what I build to, and it is how every website and artwork project here starts.

Do international clients pay more?

The work costs the same. International projects add 15% for time-zone overlap, longer revision cycles and currency handling. It shows as one line on your quote, and the total on this site already includes it once you switch the toggle.

What if I only need one small thing?

Then buy one small thing. A single social post, one care session, three hours of admin. Nothing here has a minimum.

How long does a website take?

Seven to fourteen working days for a typical three to five page site, counted from the day I have your deposit and your content. Whichever of those arrives last starts the clock.

How long does a logo take?

Five to ten working days. You see two or three directions, pick one, and I refine it from there. Three rounds of changes are already in the price.

Why does artwork take three weeks?

Because it is drawn by hand, by Monte Baunk, and that takes the time it takes. If you need something in days rather than weeks, say so and I will point you at something that fits.

What do you need from me to start?

A yes, the deposit, and whatever you already have: old logo files, photos, the words you want on the page. I will send a short questionnaire to get the rest of the details down.

Who will I be working with?

Me, for the design and the build. I am who you brief and who answers when something needs changing. Illustration is drawn by Monte Baunk, who I have worked with for years. If what you need is admin, inbox or bookkeeping, I will introduce you to Rochelle and she takes it from there.

What platforms do you build on?

WordPress, mostly: websites, web apps and custom plugins, and it is what I hand over to you. Online stores go on Shopify, which charges you a monthly platform fee directly, and I will tell you what that comes to before you commit. I have worked in Webflow too.

Can you work on my existing website?

If it is WordPress, usually yes. If it is built on something else, rebuilding it usually costs less than fighting it, and I will say so if that is what I think.

Can I change the website myself afterwards?

Yes. Every site is handed over so you can edit words and swap pictures without touching code. If you would rather not, I will do it by the hour.

Will you get me ranking on Google?

While I am not an SEO specialist, I can set up the site so Google can read it properly and index it. However, ranking is determined by your inputs: consistently publishing the right content over time.

What kind of animation do you do?

Motion graphics: titles, logos and elements animating in and out, cleanly and with good timing. Plus video editing, so cutting, stitching, music and titles. Not character animation.

Who owns the work when it is finished?

You do. The files, the artwork and the code are yours the moment the project is paid up, and you get the working files, not just the exports. Nothing is licensed back to you and nothing needs my permission to use.

Do you sign NDAs? Is there a contract?

I will sign an NDA if you need one. For the job itself there is no long contract, you get a quote, you agree to it by email or WhatsApp, and once the deposit is in I start.

What happens if I need to stop partway?

You are billed for the work actually done, and the rest of your deposit comes back. You keep everything finished up to that point, in working files. If nothing has started yet, the whole deposit is refunded.

Do you work white-label for agencies and studios?

Yes, and often. I work to your brief and your brand, sign your NDA, and stay out of sight. You keep the client relationship and present the work as your own.

How website pricing works here

A website is the base build, at R 6 800 for up to three pages. Everything technical is an add-on that lives inside it: a smart form from R 1 400, a custom WordPress plugin or web app from R 14 000, a blog at R 1 400, extra pages at R 1 400 each. Web address and a year of hosting is R 950 unless you already have your own. You pay for each part once.

How quoting works

Websites and artwork include a R 800 discovery session, where the brief is written together before anything starts. International clients pay the same for the work, plus 15% covering time-zone overlap, longer revision cycles and currency handling, shown as one line on the quote.
